The trails were a little more muddy than the last race but still very nice and fast. It was hilarious to see Brian Medrano with a blowup doll strapped to his back. He did the entire race with "Betty" Watch the video to see what Im talking about.
I crashed last Monday in Auburn injuring my knee. I did this race less than a week later with a knee injury. Although I didnt feel pain at the start and during the race, I felt some during the second run leg.
Some advise to injured athletes: Healing and nursing an injury is much more important than an early season race. I will need to be more careful about what I do and how hard I do it. Its not a serious injury never the less it needs to heal and will only be able to swim for the next few days. I still had a good race with Dennis Manor (pro triathlete from Reno) and Jamie Whitmore (former Elk Grove resident and XTERRA World Champion) winning the overall. I came in shortly after Dennis for 2nd place in the overall.
