Weather was perfect. Great people and event. The lack of rain made for smooth and fast trails.
I began my run pretty fast. I had the 3rd and 2nd fastest splits for the runs besides the relay teams. The bike portion was so much fun. The trails were in exellent condition with minimal sand and no mud. I am riding an Orbea MTB this year and put
it together just in time for this race. I rode the new Orbea Oiz MTB for the first time and let me tell you, a race is not the best place to figure out what needs to be fine tuned and adjusted. My shifting was fine but some brake rub and low seat which are easily fixed. Never the less, I had a decent bike split good for 3rd in my age,
30-39 and 5th Overall. I will be doing this series of three races and recommend it for triathlon training.
